Local Volunteer Training
Volunteer training happens on a regional level. Region R has two major volunteer develop events.
The first is Region R's own volunteer training and retreat weekend called "RAVE Weekend" during the summer (usually the last weekend in August). This training is open to ALL volunteers in Region R from chapter advisors to section volunteers to regional volunteers. During the weekend we discuss what is happening with our national programs and how to implement them in the region, how to work effectively with the students and the opportunity for volunteers in the region to meet, share ideas, and develop friendships with each other.
The second is Region R IGNITE. IGNITE stands for: Inspiring, Graduating Seniors, Newer Alumni, Interested Returners, Through, Engaged Training. If you are a graduating senior/recent graduate interested in becoming an alumni volunteer, a newer alumnus, an alumni volunteer looking to return, or if you already are an alumni volunteer who wants to get back to basics, then this event is for you. IGNITE has moved to a hybrid event setting meaning that you can join both in person and virtual and the best part is that it is completely FREE.
